The (almost) end of summer post: STATS!

It's been roarin' hot and humid out here, and I've been wilting as I am wont to do in heat. As a result, little has been going on in Lionel-research land, but I thought I'd toss together a few stats post-backup for my amusement. Now, other researchers I know have far more material, (I'm looking at you, Robert Fells) but I was pleasantly surprised at these stats:

Pictures: 8,431 in 78 folders, or 11.3 gb of Lionel Barrymore pictures

614 video files in 18 folders, or 95.1 gb (okay, some are John Barrymore too, but most are Lionel videos or clips)

62 audio files of Dr. Kildare radio episodes, or 382 mb; 364 mb of Good News radio shows; 247 of Screen Guild Theater shows; and probably another gigabyte or two of radio and music from Mr B, from the extant sound disks from Alias Jimmy Valentine to the Hallmark celebration of his life in 1954.

In a folder for article research on Mr. B, I have just about 2gb of material of all kinds, from this Ernst and Jennings wheelchair ad to scans of Selznick archive material.

I think I've been madly researching for 2+ years, and have one CV-worthy poster presentation out of it, and likely 2 articles now if I sit and write.  It's been a lot of fun, and extremely edifying!  I hope a few others get enjoyment from it. I'm working on the 1920 filmography, but it's slow going just because I'm so tired. I try to take encouragement from Mr. B's tenacity, though.

Wishing all a cooler summer than we're having! And btw--if you leave a comment that's anonymous, it goes into spam, just a standard thing for blogs for me. :)
